Food experience program (cooking class)
Father de Ro, who supported people's beliefs and lives in the open sea, introduced techniques for growing various crops such as wheat, and also introduced processing techniques for macaroni and somen noodles.
Based on this history, the former Izutsu Rescue Center has a food experience program (cooking class) that uses agricultural products and seasonal vegetables harvested in the fields of Odaira, which was cultivated by Father de Rotz. Is held regularly.
We enjoy cooking and eating deliciously with you.
Please join us after inviting us.

Ohira Work Site Ruins (City-designated historic site)
Historic Site Remaining in Ohira “Father de Rotz Ohira Work Site”
Father de Rotz moved to the Sotome area in the year of Meiji 12 (1879) and at the same time made efforts in various welfare activities and charitable projects to improve the welfare and livelihoods of local residents. Agricultural promotion is one of them, and since 17, the wilderness of Detsu Hakudake was opened and a farm was opened. The workplace site in Ohira was also established along with the reclamation, and the construction age is estimated to be around 1884 in the Meiji period.
The work site remains a solid one-story building mainly made of stone, and partly in front of a brick. The so-called De Rotz Wall technology is used, and there are fasteners that are said to connect the horses. Remain. It is highly valuable as a relic that shows a part of Father de Rotz's wide range of welfare activities. (From Nagasaki City website)
